Hey everybody! The following is a guide to injuries and first aid. As we're all very much aware, injuries in the Hunger Games are plentiful. Collins' made sure each injury was realistic to the character and arena, and with the help of this guide, you should be able to as well. Please keep in mind that each character is bound to get injuried while in the arena. I understand that you want to keep your character as healthy as possible, but we also need to keep it as realistic as possible, too. Staff will be monitoring all posts to make sure that everything is fair.
Below is a list of possible injuries in order of seriousness. You certainly aren't limited to this list; be as creative as you want!
Rash - an eruption or efflorescence on the skin.
Cramp - a sudden, involuntary, spasmodic contraction of a muscle or group of muscles, especially of the extremities, sometimes with severe pain.

Dislocation - displacement of a body part, especially the temporary displacement of a bone from its normal position; luxation.
Inflammation - redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, heat, and disturbed function of an area of the body, especially as a reaction of tissues to injurious agents.
Infection - invasion by and multiplication of pathogenic microorganisms in a bodily part or tissue, which may produce subsequent tissue injury and progress to overt disease through a variety of cellular or toxic mechanisms.
Blood Poisoning - invasion of the blood by toxic matter or microorganisms, characterized by chills, sweating, fever, and prostration. Examples are toxemia, septicemia, pyemia.

Concussion - injury to the brain or spinal cord due to jarring from a blow, fall, or the like.
Open Wound - a wound in which the injured tissues are exposed to the air, and would most likely need stitches to heal properly.
Heavy Bleeding Wounds - a deep gash wound that needs extensive time to heal thus continues to bleed despite efforts to suppress it.
Missing Limb - the removal of a limb, such as a leg, arm or hand.
Blindness - inability to see.[/ul]
Of course, these injuries can be healed as well. The superficial injuries such as a scratch will usually heal naturally, but for the more serious injuries, there are many things that can heal it. They can be from both the arena and sponsors, and you can find a detailed list here.
