HAIR: Short, about ear length, very dark brown and straight. He usually brushes it so that it kind of swoops out of his eyes.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: He has multiple scars from his adventures and fishing and boating accidents. They're mostly cuts on his wrists and arms, but he also has a little scar on the left side of his chin and a horizontal scar across his right eyebrow that's usually covered. He is almost always known as the boy with perfect teeth. They are perfectly aligned and bright white.
CLOTHING STYLE: His clothing is goofy, just like his personality. Usually his pants are torn because he's worn them so much. His shirts are loose, usually short sleeved, and are faded from so much swimming. If he's not wearing jeans, then he's wearing swim trunks and no shirt (which is what he wears most of the time). And he hardly ever wears shoes.

OVERALL:
Jude was always an adventurous kid, and he still is. There were plenty of times where he almost drowned because he swam too far out or swam right into the side of a boat. It's a huge understatement to say that he's clumsy, since he's the only person probably in all of District 4 who trips over their own feet while swimming. It's not that he's a bad swimmer, it's just that he doesn't pay attention to what direction his feet are going. The good part about him is that he's never afraid to try something new... the bad part is that he never considers the consequences before doing it. He's extremely spontaneous, but really most of the time he just seems like a big, lovable goofball.

Even though he can be a bad influence occasionally because of his spontaneous decisions, he's still the perfect older brother. He's caring, protective (but not too protective) and very loyal. His sister is his favorite person in the entire world, and he would do anything for her. If you do anything at all to hurt his sister, verbally, physically, or any other way, he will most likely tie you up and throw you in the lake and almost drown you until you apologize and mean it. He's not a very violent or mean person at all. It's just when bullies show up that he even gets the least bit angered. His temper is very controlled, and he's a very laid back young man. Most things just slide right in one ear and out the other, unless you hurt his sister, of course.

For the most part, he's a genuinely good guy, who cares deeply about his friends and family. The only really personality faults he has is his lack of thinking through his plans, he's very easily distracted, and his work ethic. And, he's also bit a cocky, or acts like he is, to get attention from girls. It's not that he's a player, he's not, he just likes being noticed. He will do just about anything to get around school or work, although he'd pick fishing over school any day, even if they are both just as boring to him. Even though he's a bit on the lazy side, he is actually a very smart guy. His memory is ridiculously fast, and he can recall just about anything if you ask him and he's seen or heard it before. Jude can be a bit of a showoff, especially around girls, but he is completely capable of calming down and getting serious. Usually the person who is able to calm him down when he really gets going, though, is his sister.

CHILDHOOD:
Jude was born and raised in District 4 by both of his loving parents. His father is just like him, laid back and caring. His mother is definitely the strict one in the house. She set a permanent curfew the moment he was born, which Jude had broken multiple times on purpose just to test her. He was a summer baby, just like his sister, who was born when he was almost three. As soon as she was born, he knew his life would be over because he instantly fell in love with her. So did his parents, but he just seemed so much more head over heels than even their mom was. He also picked out her name, Julia, because her parents couldn't stop arguing about which relative to name her after. As soon as Julia was able to walk, Jude became her guardian. He followed her everywhere and held her hand until she could walk on her own. He was by her side every moment of the day, and even volunteered most nights to stay with her until she fell asleep so his parents could rest.

From the moment he saw her, he knew that he had to be the most perfect brother in the world and protect her always. That's part of the reason he is still undecided about what to think of the Hunger Games. Of course, he hates them because when he thinks what would happen if Julia was reaped, his life would be over and he would hate the capital forever. But the only class he ever paid attention to was history, so he knows and understands why the games were created. So for now, he tries to avoid the subject when talking with his friends, family or anyone. Just to make sure that Julia's name is always only in the reaping once, if his family ever needs tesserae, he does it and refuses to let Julia.

TEENAGE YEARS:
This is when all the crazy adventures started for Jude. He met some friends who were just as goofy as he is, and they began to sneak out at night to spy on girls or just go swimming after hours. But Jude doesn't go swimming at night anymore, especially not alone, because once when he was out with hid buds around age thirteen, their boat hit a reef and all of them almost drowned because it was too dark to see. Ever since, Jude's been afraid of very dark places and nighttime swims.

Jude tries his best to make sure Julia does not follow him or copy him on his spontaneous adventures. The last thing he wants is for her to get hurt because of one of his idiotic ventures. So, usually he either sneaks out without anyone knowing, or he refuses to let her come along. Although it might make her angry, he knows she will always forgive him. He's the only one she tells her secrets to.

When it comes to romance, Jude hasn't really had much luck. He's had some girlfriends off and on, but none of them were truly love-worthy in his eyes. They were just good friends who happened to go out on dinner dates with him. They were never any more than that to him. But Jude wants to find true love more than anything. And he also wants to find a guy for Julia who will treat her exactly like he does: with respect and love and honesty. The last thing he will ever let happen is for her to date a jerk. Jude lives his life his own way, and he can always brighten up someones day with his goofy charm. Now, all he has to do is make sure that both he and his little sister can make it through their teenage years without becoming part of the capital's games.
