The games are always fast paced and exciting, and we'd love our roleplaying to be the same! Waiting a week for a post can be incredibly frustrating, and we can't hold up everything while waiting for you. Tributes that do not have an active thread per round (Round 1 - Day 1, Round 2 - Day 2, etc) will be considered inactive and others will be able to kill your character. If you are going to be away for a while during the games, let someone else play your tribute or let them be killed off. Like I said before, we can't hold up the games while waiting for someone!
Posting: Unlike the rest of the board, we do not allow 'liquid time' in our Hunger Games, which means a character can't be in more than one thread at a time. This deals with continuity, and I've noticed that's an issue on other HG roleplays. We also encourage you to post as much as you can. For example, if your character moves from one location to another, it's expected that it will either be roleplayed out or at least recounted in a post; characters don't magically appear in new locations without explanations! You can also have a thread by yourself if your tribute is alone. Not every thread has to be with another tribute!
As this is the Beta Games, word count isn't an issue. We've squished everything close together and we'd appreciate it if the posts were short and quickfire so we can keep up to schedule. This isn't about assessing your writing abilities; we are testing the games system!
Alliances: Alliances can be made at any time. For organizational purposes, there is an aliance claim that we expect allied tributes to fill out. Allies aren't needed, but remember two is better than one!
Death List & Kill Claim: The death list will be posted before the beginning of each round. It takes into account a tribute's injuries, career status, weapons, training score and even nutrition. You can claim a kill and then roleplay it out. All we do is provide the list of fallen tributes - how they die is completely up to you and can be plotted out with other players. The only exception is when mutts are brought into the arena.
Mutts: If a thread is slow and players are losing interest, mutts will be thrown into the arena. It isn't likely that your character will die from a mutt attack unless you have talked with a Gamemaker and decided this is how you want your character to go. Injuries are very common, though. A Gamemaker will plot the thread out for you. First an introductory post depicting the attributes of the mutt will be posted, and then a Gamemaker will post as the mutt. You cannot control the mutt.
Fighting: Your character will get in fights! It is expected that, if your character ever encounters another that they don't want to be allied with, they will fight, and one will die. If you are in a fight thread with someone, please mark it in the title of the thread so staff members can moderate it! We need to make sure that everything is realistic (ie, we don't want anyone with severe injuries running around as if nothing's wrong!) and complies to the death list that we post before each round starts. Characters who are written to die must die, and characters that are written to live must live!
Food & Water: The quest for food and water took up a lot of Katniss' time in the arena, so it is expected that it will be the same for your character. Tributes are expected to write their intake of food and water by the end of each round. The food and water must comply with the arena (eg, you will not find coconuts in the desert). To help you out, we've written which foods can be found in specific areas in the arena. If you do not post in the Food & Water claim, it will be assumed that they didn't eat or drink anything at all, so they will have a higher chance of dying.
Stats: In each post, please write a list of injuries, items and the specific location of your tribute.
Other Rules: All other rules must be followed!
Please don't get upset when characters die. It isn't a reflection of what we think of you; the system is entirely fair and the staff wouldn't kill a tribute for the sake of pissing someone off. It is just a game and it shouldn't be taken personally. You knew what you were getting into![/style][STYLE=background-color: 2f2f2f; width: 430px; color: 2f2f2f;] .
