Acalia Trantus
The Capitol must be very different from your home district. What's your favourite thing about the Capitol so far? Acalia laughed and shrugged, batting her big fake lashes and replying in a clear, confident voice, "Well for one you all have much better fashion sense we have back home in district 2!" And she wasn't just saying that. Acalia beamed in the spotlight, enjoying every moment she sat before the camera with the host she'd always adored on the television screen. Looking back at the host she said in a more even tone, "But yet it is very different, my favorite thing is the way people are just enthusiastic, about every little thing. It's a nice change of pace."
What is your life like back home? What's your family like? Acalia's face dropped slightly, feeling a pang of irritation. She really didn't see the point in bringing up all the tributes' families when family wasn't a big aspect in a young adults life. But within a second Acalia was beaming again and gently running a hand through her long, curled hair. "Oh life is fantastic. My family is well-to-do and gets along quite well. The usual life of a architects daughter i suppose." She giggled and brushed away her hair.
Is there a special someone in your life? Blushing slightly Acalia nodded, looking at the host with a coy smile, "Well there is in fact. My parents have found me a wonderful young man named Galileo." She glanced back towards the audience and held out her left hand, exclaiming with much enthusiasm, "And i said yes! The ring glittered in the lights as the crowd roared, and Acalia pristine smile grew wider from the attention. She really couldn't care less about Galileo. Sure he was handsome, wealthy, polite. Everything she should want.
How are you planning to win the games? Acalia's face lost a bit of its usual glamor and more a look of confusion as she brought her hands to her chest as if in innocent shock, "Oh dear me you mean to tell me this interview isn't because of my devilish charm?" She laughed and waved the host's confused expression away, and the crowd burst into laughter at her joke. She giggled and tried to regain composure, "In all seriousness though my plan for now is to give it my all and see what happens."
So you're engaged, and have been chosen for the games. That must be very hard on your fiance, how'd he take it? Acalia's face hardened as she plastered her usual smile on. Because she hadn't the slightest idea what to say. She pretended to lift her hands to her mouth as if holding back tears. But she was racing for an answer. She didn't know. She didn't talk to Galileo, didn't even know if he cared. He probably was more concerned that he wouldn't be able to merge their family businesses if she lost. Removing her hands she said in the saddest voice she could muster, "It was very hard on him...but he's routing for me to come home and make him the happiest man alive. And that's what i'm trying to do." She heard the crowd sigh and knew she'd nailed it. Smiling she waved a bit and made sure her ring was very noticeable.
That's all we have time for. Acalia Trantus from District 2, everybody! Acalia stood to smile and waved amorously to the screaming crowd, soaking up every bit of the attention. She blinked into the blinding stage lights and threw a kiss up to the cameras, being sure to hold out her left hand just sightly so people knew it was for Galileo, "Thank you all so much! I just can't wait to be back home with my Galileo!" And she plastered on a fake smile and walked gracefully off stage.
