Jeton Nero
The Capitol must be very different from your home district. What's your favourite thing about the Capitol so far? Jeton's face was like a stone. He scanned the crowd as the overly-chipper host asked him the tedious questions. But Jeton knew this was an essential part of the game, the game he'd trained for for years. He cleared his throat and said as professionally as possible, "Well ya know sir i like the architecture here. It's very different than back home, a lot more innovative. I think it defines the people of our great nation, always looking forward." He added a touch of a smile, if it could be called that at all.
What is your life like back home? What's your family like? Jeton's voice was polite, cold, and detached as he answered, sounding very rehearsed, "My family is very supportive of my choice to enter the games. They are grateful that i have this opportunity to earn our family a great deal of respect from this nation and i am looking forwards to bring them that victory. Life is very regimented and orderly, just as it should be."
Is there a special someone in your life? Jeton chuckled a bit at this one and winked at the audience, a touch of his old self (before his training began) showing through. "No, not for me at the moment. Figured i'd go earn the cash and title and then the ladies would fall in line."
How are you planning to win the games? Jeton cleared his voice and leaned forwards, talking with his hands like a coach outlining the plan or a manager laying out the business route. "I believe this game was invented to test people. Mentally, physically, and psychologically. It weeds out the weak from the strong, and intend to win based on assessing my strengths and using them against my opponents. By being objective about my abilities, i can use them more effectively."
So you say these games are important to your family, what would winning mean to them? Jeton cleared his throat and knit his eyebrows together, looking straight into the audience and saying very solemnly, "To be honest they would be unaltered. Greatness has always been expected, always achieved, and will continue to be that way. So i believe that they would congratulate me and we'd move on in life just as planned sir. Just as planned..." Jeton trailed off and looked down at his shoes, feeling the coldness of his voice and hearing his grandfather's words in his head. Failure was not an option. Never had been.
That's all we have time for. Jeton Nero from District 1, everybody! Jeton waved to the crowd and stood to shake the host's hand, trying to smile a bit but giving one last, long, hard stare into the cameras. "And i'll see you all again after the games!"
