She was their first child, bouncing baby Annah being born four years later. Stem and Aliana met in Peacekeeper training and started a relationship, but unfortunately she became pregnant with Ocie six months in. Stem asked her to marry him and Aliana subsequently dropped out of training in order to carry and care for her unborn child. Ocie as a kid was light-hearted and fun, traits that are buried very deep down in the Ocie of today. She was born in the year of the sixty second Hunger Games and was brought up watching them. She had always enjoyed them, possessing the rare ability to disassociate it with herself and love it on face value. Aliana was fiercely anti-Games and was openly dismayed how much her two daughters enjoyed them growing up. She couldn’t stop them watching the Games, but whenever she found them doing something disturbing like re-enacting a scene from the previous day, she punished them severely. This just incensed Ocie’s passion for violence, along with her sister’s. Ocie’s first four reapings passed eventfully, her fifth was her little sister’s first and Ocie was far more nervous for her than she was for herself. But as they watched, most years yielded a volunteer as tribute and she became less and less nervous. On her seventh and final year in the reapings, Ocie’s name was called. She consoled herself, sure that someone would push past her and volunteer. But nobody did. Her male counterpart, Jo, was an old friend, but she didn’t let that faze her. In fact, their friendship would be of advantage to both of them in the arena. She was packed off to the Capitol, but she didn’t break and convince herself of her oncoming death and sob in the carriages of the high-speed trains. Instead she knew that statistically everything was going for her. She loved the Games, she was eighteen, she was reasonably attractive, and she was from District 2 which in 80 years of Hunger Games had the most wins. Victors’ Village in District 2 would practically be a town, except for the many, many casualties during the Victors’ purge. Yes, she had a lot going for her. In the Opening Ceremony, her District wowed by coming out dressed in thousands of tiny (blunt) blades, which won them favour with the Capitol. Training went well for Ocie. She was already talented with knives and swords, but spent a day at ranged weapons learning almost obsessively how to throw them. But she exercised her intelligence by spending the rest of her time at stations at survival and edible plants, knowing that more tributes died of natural causes and of poisoning than died in combat. As a result of her training, she scored a respectable eight. During training, she had been sorting out an alliance, scoring new friends with District 1 and District 4. Jo and herself were an inseparable team anyway and the other Careers merely added to their firepower. At the Bloodbath, the dynamic team of six managed to take out a good ten tributes and hoard most of the loot. Their real problem was an alliance between the tributes of 5 and the tributes of 9. They were unusually strong and talented and together they had managed to steal away enough supplies to be a considerable problem. As the Games went on, it became a competition between the two alliances. Ocie decapitated the boy from 9 and District 5 took out the girl from District 1 and the boy from District 4 as a reply. In the last few days, it was down to their alliance, the trio from 5 and 9 and a lone assassin from 11. There was a feast and Ocie was the first shift scout while the rest of her alliance went in to eat. However, the trio from 5 and 9 attacked just as the boy from 11 took out the boy from 1 from his vantage point up a tree. Ocie crept up on 11 and used a throwing knife to nail him through the neck. After the feast, there was one victorious tribute, the rest having died in a bloody fight. It was the troublesome girl from 9. There was a long fight with sword on sword, but eventually Ocie managed to gut her and was crowned victor. After her Games, Ocie went on the Victory tour and saw many things she never wished to see again. The harsh punishments of eleven, the starvation in the faces of people from twelve, the contrast between the near slavery of district people and the fanciful people of the Capitol who threw up so they could keep eating. At the tender age of nineteen, she was a mentor for the girl from 2, but it was the boy who really caught her attention. At seventeen, he was very cute and strong, tipped by many for an easy win. He delivered, coming back victorious. His name was Roe Lochslinn. During his Victory Tour, Ocie accompanied him along with his old mentor. Along the way they began a relationship and in the Capitol were introduced as the romance of the decade, fated victors of consecutive games. When they returned to 2, they enjoyed a couple of years together before Roe asked her to marry him. Ocie wasn’t sure about children, knowing that more often than not victors’ children were reaped to participate in the Games. But Roe persuaded her and their eldest was born when Ocie was twenty one. Their names were Dixie and Alixandra. Around the same time, her sister Annah became a fully-fledged Peacekeeper and moved to District 5. The twins was quickly joined by Gray. By the time the twins had reached four and most of the nanny force of District 2 had been employed, Ocie had an epiphany. She had reached twenty five and was still in her prime, quickly finding out that not only did Roe love kids, so did she. But Ocie had loved the exhilaration and challenge of having multiple babies, so she took a special visit to the Capitol to visit some doctors. Over the next six months, she became a frequent patient until the day when Ocie was told that she was expecting triplets. President Elizabeth Snow was informed and found this a reason to throw a great ball. It was Dixie, Alixandra and Gray’s first time in the Capitol and they were dressed up by prep teams for the occasion. Snow was cunning and Ocie recognised this familiar trait. She had used the ball as propaganda to spin the Games into a fairytale for Ocie and Roe. Nine months later, the triplets were born to much fanfare by the entirety of Panem. Their names, which had been much debated and polled by the Capitol, were Fabius, Antonia and Julietta. The six children had a quite sheltered upbringing, apart from the constant television coverage of the Games, which both Ocie and Roe encouraged them to watch. There was no use in hiding from them, their unvoiced fear was always that their children would be reaped. And both parents were sure at least one of their six kids would be in the Games. The twins reached twelve a year ago and as Victors, both parents had to stand on stage and pray that one of them would not come to join them up there. Thankfully, both children came through without being reaped and Ocie could relax for another year. Her parents died five years ago, content in the knowledge that their eldest was a famed celebrity Victor and their youngest was Head Peacekeeper in District 5. Ocie mourned them, but it was her stylish black dress and her kids matching outfits that were splashed across Capitol newspapers, not her parents' obituaries.
