Height and weight: 175cm (5"9'), 50kg Body type: Thin Distinguishing features: She stands out from the rest of the Seam because she is fair skinned and blonde haired. Traits: Curious, innocent, sweet, silly, shy, almost childlike, compassionate, kleptomaniac, supersticious, insecure, naive, guarded, fearful. Likes: Fireplaces, warm sunrises, cheesecake (she had it on her 16th birthday, and she's since been yearning for another slice!), dreaming, giving and receiving compliments. Dislikes: Mosquito bites, dirty water, bare feet, illness, the Hunger Games. Strengths: People trust her naturally because of her innocent looks, excellent thief, endurance. Weaknesses: Asthma, small and therefore weak. Habits: Clapping and jumping when she's excited, redoing her hair when she's nervous, covering her whole face when she cries. Dreams: Bay wants her life to remain completely untouched from the games, but that is highly unrealistic. She wants to grow old with every single person she's ever cared about and hopefully live long enough to see the Capitol go down again. Parents: Harper (mother), Landon (father - deceased) Siblings: Reed (19 yo brother), Sage (18 yo brother) Pets: For as long as she can remember, she's had a duck named Donald. She is too naive to realize that the original Donald died years ago and was replaced to avoid giving her grief. She has recently adopted a sick, diseased ferret who she calls Lou. Overall History: At least 300 words, please. Birth & Naming On the 31st of October, Harper and Landon Sears welcomed their first baby girl to the world. The baby remained nameless for three weeks because they couldn't agree on a name, but eventually they named her Bay. Her mother insisted that Bay was named after the shores of the district she so badly wanted to visit whereas her father disagreed that Bay is Latin for berry. Either way, the name stuck. Bay was their third child, adding to their existing 3 and 2 year olds Reed and Sage. Major Events 1. Father's death. He died of stomach cancer when she was 5. It turns out he knew he had cancer for many years beforehand, but he didn't tell anybody because he didn't want his family to worry and he thought the district's medicine would eventually make him better. It didn't, so he died. Though her mother explained death, Bay couldn't grasp the finality of it. Somehow she hung onto the possibility of him coming back one day. Three days after his death, she saw a dead bird and suddenly realized that they were both dead and wouldn't come back. Bay has since been terrified of death. When her pet duck died from infection a few years later, her mother bought an almost identical duck to avoid giving Bay more grief. She didn't notice a difference at the time, and she still hasn't questioned Donald's miraculously long life. 2. First Reaping. Bay was so consumed by fear that she'd convinced herself that one of her brothers would be drawn. Her mother refused to let her take tesserae even though Bay wanted to for the good of the family, so she wasn't worried about herself. In the end, she needn't worry about her own family. An aquaintance from school was reaped and his parents went crazy. They fought the peacekeepers and offered the family business in exchange for keeping their son. The peacekeepers couldn't be swayed, so the parents punched them and a few bystanders joined in. The peacekeepers overthrew the crowd and dragged away the culprits. Later Bay found out that they had been killed, and their families punished, and the people who joined in got publically whipped. Bay's mother made each of her kids swear to never speak against the Capitol or the games, because everyone would get punished. Bay would keep her mouth shut and, no matter how much she hated the games, she could never speak against it. She couldn't do that to her own family. Family Business The Sears family owns a small bee farm, and they provide honey, little honey sweets, and candles for the many electricity shortages in 12. They are higher lower class and make barely enough money to get by. Also, from a young age Bay has stolen from the wealthier people of D12. While another family member distracted them, she'd run into their home and take a few things, whether it be food, items of clothing or medicine. Because of her youthful, innocent looks, no one suspects here. She is considered the angel from the Seam and trusting her comes naturally. No debt goes unpaid, however. When the family has enough money, they will buy something close to the stolen item's value and place it on their doorstep. No one suspects the family of anything. Specific Relationships 1. Mother. Bay and her mother have a relatively close bond, though it is strained at times. They are almost like polar opposites, and her mother always tells her how similar she is to her father, both genetically and emotionally. Just like her father was, Bay is prone to panicking and stress, whereas her mother is one of the calmest people anyone could ever meet. If she ever has a panic or anxiety attack, her mother can always relax her by combing her hair for half an hour. However, they often argue. Bay's kleptomania has always been a topic of heated conversation, and her mother doesn't understand why her daughter feels compelled to steal any little thing she sees. Her mother doesn't want her getting caught and bringing disgrace to the family name, especially when no one has ever caught them stealing before. At any given time, Bay either has an extremely good relationship with her mother, or an extremely bad one. 2. Reed. Bay is undeniably closest to her eldest brother Reed. For as long as she can remember, she and her two brothers have shared the main bedroom while her mother sleeps in a fold-out bed in the living room. Because of their close sleeping arangements, they naturally grew close too. Bay feels like she can tell Reed anything, and if she ever needs advice, she always goes to him first as he is the smartest. He may have indirectly saved her life a few days before her eleventh birthday. He decided to take her to look at the little corner shop, and that day, part of their house collapsed. Since then, the kitchen roof has only partially been fixed and it still leaks terribly when it rains. Bay and Reed are best friends, and he always looks out for her. 3. Sage. Sage is somewhat of a dark sheep of the Sears family. Something about his dark eyes and steady stare automatically make people distrust him. There has always been a rumour that he may not be Landon's child as he has different features and coal-black hair (both of his supposed parents have lighter hair). Most District 12 people think there's something shady about him, but Bay knows that he is mostly mad at the world. His hatred is directed at the Capitol for reaping his girlfriend and having to watch her die on national television. Bay and Sage used to be really close, but after his girlfriend died, he's remained cold and distant. She is honestly scared of what he might do. Please include an rp sample here. jess. 18. fawn. |
